Fun with Daisy

We figured out that Daisy will do anything for Cheetos.

She goes crazy for them!

I know this next picture looks like a bunch of mean kids pushing a poor frightened dog down a scary slide..........but honestly, Daisy would bomb down the slide after a Cheeto.... on her own free will.

I have to admit........Daisy has grown on me. I don't hate her.
She's mellowed out alot. And the kids are really attached to her.

She has all her buddies to hang out with in the backyard..........bunny and kitty and Turbo (the tortoise).

I'll look out the back door & see Daisy curled up on the patio......spooning with kitty......and bunny licking Daisy's behind...........it's great how they all get along.

Jake's basketball season

I'm so very behind in EVERYTHING right now.....including this blog. I need to push a pause button on life....wouldn't that be great!

Little League in full swing, Max's birthday party, out-of-town friends staying with us, NAL Nationals matches, Spring Break laundry I'm still working on, Daisy diarrhea in her crate 2 days in a row, and then taking on some commercial photo gigs lately........I want to hide in a corner & take a long nap!

Anyhoo..........

Jake's basketball season wrapped up a few weeks ago. They did awesome! Coach Joe worked these guys pretty hard & I think it paid off. And it's fun that they can keep their same team each season. These boys are all such cute buddies.

A few action shots.......

Great season, boys!!!

Some stuff we've been up to......

Picking oranges! Lots of them!

I love this time of year!!!

Jake just got contacts.
I know.......most of you probably didn't know he wears glasses........because he never wore his glasses.......because they were always either lost or broken!
So we're hoping his new contacts don't fly out of his eyes on the playground & get lost too........

I talked Mars into a few pictures & experimented with a little texture on this one.
It is so fancy, no?

Loving the peach blossoms in the backyard.

I get out of the shower to find this.
Baking soda & peppercorns this time.
Entire Costco box of Tide yesterday.
Gus in a leash tomorrow.

Just kidding.

I really do enjoy filling an entire vaccuum bag every day.
It makes me feel so accomplished.

Pinewood Derby 2009

It was the Pink Panther this year. Brian's going to love that I posted this one, but he really should know better not to do poses like this, because of course I'm going to post it.

Oh, the highs (above) .........and lows (below)......... of the Pinewood Derby.

We have the best Cub Scoutmaster in the world!
He magnifies his calling like none other.

Gus trying to race 'Gus's car' every two seconds.

The final race for the Flat Tire award (the slowest car).
This award was made up to help the slowest racer not feel so bad, but it's ended up being the most coveted award. Alot of the boys now try to have the slowest car.
And maybe the fact that the winner takes home the Flat Tire Cake may have something to do with it, I don't know.......

They were all winners that night.

Especially this one.

It takes a neighborhood

My Gus is a free spirit.
He feels the need to be freely exploring the neighborhood and beyond as much as possible.
It's a big world out there & the confines of our home & yard is just not enough for him.
I mean....... there's wild & untamed dirt lots out there........other people's bikes & toys.........a real live tractor in the dirt!!!!! Can you blame him???

But, I must say, it's a little embarrassing when your neighbors are routinely ringing your doorbell with your 3-year-old in hand who had wandered away again!

I'm so sorry, neighbors! I've tried everything short of gluing a GPS tracker on the top of his head!.....hmmmm...I'll have to look into that one......he's very resourceful & works on something (like a deadbolt) until he figures it out!
Yet he can't figure out how to actually go potty on the toilet......but that's another blog entry.......

Bumloads of Lemons

Please come by & get some lemons!
We have just one lemon tree, but I think there has to be a thousand lemons on it.
We don't know what to do with them.
You can only make so many vats of lemonade.......

Please help!

8th graders are cool

There are so many great girls Marlee's age. Some of them are my Beehives, whom I absolutely adore!
I was picking up the carpool after school & snapped these pictures as they walked to the car.
They SO worked the camera when they knew I was shooting them. Hair started flying, hips started swaying, they know how to work it!
LOVE these girls.
